Adding a Back to a Seat Base
If the set you are constructing consists of a corner configuration such as a sectional,
place (1) seat base and (2) backs aside. These will be used on page 8 of this guide.
1) Attach the left (M2) and right
(M3) metal brackets to the back legs
of the seat base as shown using (2)
B screws in each bracket.
Drilling 1/8" pilot holes first will
assist in driving the screws. To do
so, hold each bracket in place and
mark each screw location on the
seat base. Remove the bracket and
drill a 1" deep hole at each location.
IMPORTANT: Note location of
brackets and direction of seat slats
in the image to the right. This will
ensure a consistent appearance
across multiple seats.
2) Attach the back to the
brackets on the seat base
using (3) B screws on each
side.
Drilling 1/8" pilot holes first
will assist in driving the
screws.
