TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Under certain conditions, performance of the unit may be adversely affected by factors other than defects. If
problems occur, please review the following list and take remedial action as needed. If you cannot solve the
problem after checking the entire list, please contact your local Olympus representative for assistance.
Problem
a. Switching is impossible even
when specified button on
hand switch is pressed.
b. Field iris diaphragm image
does not appear when 10X to
100X objectives are in use.

Cause
Condenser connection cable is con-
nected improperly.
Main switch of BX-UCB control box is
not ON.
Hand switch connection cable is con-
nected improperly.
Power cord of BX-UCB control box is
unplugged.
Connector of BX-RLAA motorized re-
flected light illuminator is plugged.
Slide glass is too thick.
Top lens is swung out.
Remedy
Connect it properly.
Set main switch to " I " (ON).
Connect it properly.
Connect it properly.
As BX-RLAA cannot be used together,
unplug its connector.
Use side glasses measuring 1.4 mm or
less. When using immersion type top
lens, however, thickness should be 1.2
mm or less.
Swing top lens in.
