Problem
The chipper does not do the
job correctly: the wood is not
pulled in by the machine itself.
The tile is not the same size.
The engine does not start/ the
engine switches itself off
When blocking the rotor. The
engine will not start because
the rotor is stuck

5. Troubleshooting

Cause
- The blades are too worn
- The diameter of the
branches inserted into the
machine is too large
- There is too much
distance between the fixed
blade and the counter
knife: the correct distance
is 0.5 mm (half a
millimeter)
- Electrical problem
with the motor
- There is no fuel on it
- There is no or not enough oil
on the engine (the oil must be
level with the thread on the
level screw)
- The diameter of the branch
is too large
- There are unacceptable
materials such as stone or
metal in the inlet pipe
Solution
- Change or sharpen the
blades. Note that the blades
are sharpened on both sides
so they can be turned.
- Switch off the engine and
remove the branch that is
too thick and adjust the gap
between the knife and
counter knife.
Check that
- The inlet pipe is fitted
correctly and that the bolts
are tight
- Press the 'start' button on
the engine
- Deactivate the
emergency switch (turn
the knob)
- Check the oil and fuel
level
- Contact
your
workshop.
Important:
Retighten bolts and blades
- Switch off the engine,
remove the spark plug cap
and turn the rotor counter-
clockwise. Use a wooden
stick to twist the rotor free and
to remove the material from
the rotor and inlet tube.
If necessary, remove the cap
from the bearing housing and
rotate the rotor shaft.
Check the sharpness of the
knives and counter knife and
replace them if necessary.
Important: Retighten bolts and
blades.
