Cable safety clip
WARNING.
Extension cord must
be approved for outdoor use.
Locate the rectangular slot in
the lower part of the rear handle
and the position of the cable
safety clip (9). Form a loop in
the extension cord (not supplied)
and insert the loop through the
rectangular slot. Twist the loop
through 180° and hook the loop
over the moulded hook, pull tight
to secure the cable.
Before operation
•
Ensure the guard is fitted correctly
•
Push the guard into its location at the front of the housing
•
Using a posidrive screwdriver (not supplied) screw the
screws into the holes already on the unit.
WARNING:
The hedgetrimmer must not be operated
without the guard fitted
Operation
IMPORTANT.
This hedge trimmer is designed for the
trimming of hedges, bushes and shrubs. If it is used for any
other purpose not expressly permitted by these operating
instructions, there may be a risk of damage to the hedge
trimmer or serious injury to the user.
Note.
The upper blade teeth have extended points with
rounded ends to reduce the chance of injury in case of
accidental contact.
Switching on and off
Note.
This hedge trimmer is fitted with a two-hand
safety switch.
1. To switch the hedge trimmer on, press the front safety
switch on the front grip is pressed with one hand and
either trigger switch with the other hand.
2. To stop the hedge trimmer move the Hedge Trimmer
away from the cutting area and release either one, or
both of the switches.
Rotating the rear handle
WARNING.
Never engage the
switch trigger while rotating
the handle.
This hedge trimmer is fitted with
a rear rotating handle. It can be
turned 45 deg and 90 deg to the
left and 45 deg and 90 deg to the right.
It has fixed positions and the lock button will locate and lock
the handle in each position
1. To rotate the handle pull the switch backwards and rotate to
the position required and the switch will slide back into position.
