CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Maintaining and caring for your Chimenea is easy, with just a few simple steps to follow.
IMPORTANT TIPS:
• Never clean the Chimenea when it is hot or still contains hot coals.
• Always allow the Chimenea to cool completely before cleaning or maintenance.
• Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, sprays or highly abrasive cleaning tools.
• Do not use high pressure water blasting devices to clean the surfaces of the Chimenea body as this may damage or
remove the surface coating.
• Always check any cleaning product on a small area of the underside of the product to confirm it is safe to use.
AFTER EACH USE
Chimenea:
• Empty the sand and any debris from chimenea into a metal container or bucket.
• Remove any debris from the sand. Sand may be reused but avoid using sand that is wet or damp as this will increase the
rate of corrosion of the steel fire bowl.
• Gently clean (wipe) the chimenea with a damp sponge using a mild detergent and warm water.
• Rinse off the chimenea body with clean water and allow to dry.
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
• Depending on the amount of use - at least once or twice a year - the Chimenea should be cleaned according to the care
and maintenance instructions supplied in these instructions.
• The chimenea should be inspected to ensure it is not cracked or split. In the event the chimenea is cracked or split - it
should be replaced.
• To maintain the look of the chimenea, it should be periodically re-painted, using a high temperature paint.
(Available from your retailer).
• When choosing a suitable paint, only use high teperature paints designed for stoves or fireplaces.
STORAGE
When not in use, the Chimenea must be protected from exposure to the elements: e.g. Sun, Wind, Rain, Dust, Snow and Ice.
Cover the chimenea at all times when not in use or move the Chimenea to a covered outdoor space or store the unit in a
dry environment, for example, a garage or suitable storage space.
