Operation using U-DICT without U-ANT

a) Pull out the transmitted light DIC slider to disengage it from the light path.

b) While looking into the eyepiece, loosen the clamping screw of the U-FWT filter wheel and rotate the U-FWT to

the position where the field of view is perfectly dark. This is the position where the polarizer should be used.

c) Tighten the clamping screw of the U-FWT at the position where the field of view is perfectly dark.

d) Re-engage the DIC slider in the light path.

4. Select the turret of the DIC prism matching the objective in use.

5. Engage the objective to be used in the light path.

}When a transmitted light DIC slider other than the U-DICT is used, set the prism position switch knob to BFP1

or NORMAL according to the objective to be used.

With any objective other than the above, use the NORMAL position.

6. Place the specimen on the stage and move the stage up or down to bring the specimen into focus.

7. Adjust the field iris diaphragm until the diaphragm opening circumscribes the field of view.

8. Stopping down the aperture iris diaphragm somewhat may increase the contrast.
