Direct Supply Attendant PIR alarms are battery-powered
monitors that alarm when a resident attempts to leave their
bed. Attendant PIR alarms are intended to be used on beds to
assist caregivers trained in its use.
Direct Supply Attendant Alarms are intended to help augment
caregivers' comprehensive resident mobility management
programs. They are not a substitute for the visual monitoring
and care of residents by trained caregivers.
Definitions and Symbols
note: Indicates a tip.
Caution: Indicates correct operating or maintenance procedures
in order to prevent damage to or destruction of the equipment
or other property.
Warning: Calls attention to a potential danger that requires correct
procedures or practices in order to prevent personal injury.
Device: Your Direct Supply Attendant PIR Alarm.
You And Your: The facility, community or other entity that has
purchased the device.

Trouble Shooting
If your system does not function when tested, follow these steps:
Step 1: Verify that you are using a fully charged battery.
Step 2: Verify that the alarm switch is in the "Chime"position.
• WArning – If these troubleshooting tips do not resolve the
problem, immediately take the Alarm out of service, substitute
another working Alarm and contact Direct Supply Equipment
& Furnishings.

"Chime" positions
• P ower source – runs on one 9V battery (not included)
• 3 0 foot x 60° coverage area
Testing, Cleaning & Storage
Testing
Test the device and check the battery level before every use.
• WArning – Always verify the system is working properly
before leaving a resident unattended.
Cleaning
To clean the device, use disinfectant wipes. Do not immerse
in any liquid or solution.
Storage
Store device indoors in a dry, cool location.
Do not store near heaters or other devices that could
physically damage the product.

Step 1
: Insert a 9V battery (not included) into the
battery compartment.

Step 2
: Mount PIR Alarm in the desired monitoring
area, such as a resident's bedside, chair side
or doorway.

Step 3
: Turn the PIR Alarm on by moving the switch into

the "Chime"position.

Step 4
: Test the PIR Alarm by moving through the desired
area, and verifying that the PIR alarm sounds.
Adjust the angle of the PIR Alarm as necessary
to provide sufficient coverage of the desired
monitoring area.
Step 5
: Reset the PIR Alarm by moving the switch
into the "Off" position, and then back into the
"Chime"position.
Step 6
: Always test the device before each use.
