•
Routine maintenance
•
Preparing the system for storage
•
Removing/preventing contamination (bacterial
growth) in the flow path
•
Preventing carryover of buffers/samples
Cleaning solutions
•
1 M NaOH
• DM water
Instruction
1. Clean the inlets and outlets (buffer tubing,
sample inlet tubing, fractionation tubing)
2. Immerse the buffer inlet tubing (A & B) in 1 M
NaOH.
3. Disconnect column from the flow path and
reconnect the tubing with a Union connector.
4. Follow the workflow below to run System
cleaning.
Note:
•
Do not leave NaOH in the system. Wash the flow
path thoroughly with water.
•
Check the pH after water wash to ensure
complete removal of NaOH.
•
It is recommended not to end the method before
it is completed.

System cleaning
Clean the Buffer valve and Wash
valve
The Buffer valve and Wash valve can be cleaned
using DM water.
Note: If a more thorough cleaning is required, 1 M NaOH
may be used. When NaOH is used for cleaning, make sure
to wash the flow path thoroughly with DM water before
starting a run.
Instruction
• Perform Pump wash B and Pump wash A
protocols (in that order) ro clean the buffer valve
and wash valve. See Section Pump wash A/B on
page 3.
Set Pump wash flow rate to 10 ml/min.
• If NaOH is used for cleaning, repeat the Pump
wash B and Pump wash A protocols with DM
water until the NaOH is completely removed.
Clean the Sample valve
The Sample valve can be cleaned using DM water.
Note: If a more thorough cleaning is required, 1 M NaOH
may be used. When NaOH is used for cleaning, make sure
to wash the flow path thoroughly with DM water before
starting a run.
Instruction
1. Immerse the sample inlet tubing in the cleaning
solution (DM water or 1 M NaOH).
2. Set Run parameters
• Set Flow rate to 5 ml/min.
• Clear the Save results to USB option.
3. Set Flow path:
• Set Sample valve to Sample.
• Set Wash valve to Column.
• Set Outlet valve to Waste.
