PREPARING THE GRINDER

NOTE: Remove the plug from the socket before

carrying out adjustment, servicing or maintenance.

8.1 FITTING THE GUARD DISC - FIGS. 1 - 3

Before fitting the guard disc to the machine, the

protective guard must be fitted and adjusted to

working requirements.

8.2 FITTING THE GUARD

Position the guard

the quick release lever in the open position (fig.2.)

rotate the guard until it is in the correct position and

then close the quick release lever to lock the guard in

the correct position.

WARNING: Never attempt to operate this machine

without the guard securely fitted and correctly

positioned*.

* With the exception of wire cup brushes etc. which

negate the guards effectiveness.

8.3 FITTING THE DISC

Fit flange

and ensure it engages with the flat on

the spindle.

Place the disc on the shaft.

Lock the spindle with button

machine (Fig.3).

With the spindle locked, screw the flange nut

to the spindle and then tighten with peg spanner

which is supplied with the machine.

In order to replace the disc, carry out the fore

mentioned procedure in reverse.

WARNING: Ensure the accessory grinding discs, cutting

discs or wire cup brushes are the correct speed rating

suitable for the angle grinder, and correct for the

intended application.

NOTE: Never press the spindle lock button while the

spindle is in motion.

For cutting applications, and to comply to

current legislation, it is necessary to

replace the "grinding" guard

supplied with this machine for the
