Programming the Auxiliary Relay Contacts

The Auxiliary Relay Contacts can be programmed to switch due to a wide variety of fault conditions or

normal operating modes. (Any function that has a LED on the control panel can be programmed). One

or more operating conditions can be programmed, the first of which to occur will operate the relay.

Firstly press button 21 for a minimum of 2

seconds to enter the Auxiliary Contacts

programming mode. The 'Program' LED 4

will illuminate. Use button 20 to select the

desired condition you wish the Aux. contacts

to be activated by. Use button 19 to select or

deselect that option. An illuminated LED

indicates that condition will activate the

contacts. Using this same method, step

through as many conditions as required to

activate the contacts. After program-

ming wait 10 seconds and the new

settings will be stored. The COMPACT is

usupplied with the following conditions

activating the Aux. Contacts:

1. Over temperature

2. Overload

3. Battery Over-voltage or Under-voltage

4. If the COMPACT has been turned OFF

manually or with a fault.

Example 1:

Activate the auxiliary contacts only when in the Over Temp condition

Press button 21 for a minimum of 2 seconds to enter the Auxiliary Contacts programming mode. The

'Program' LED 4 will illuminate. Use button 20 to select the Overload condition. Use button 19 to

illuminate the Overload LED , if it is not already illuminated. Step through the rest of the options using

button 20. If any of the other options show illuminated LEDs, press button 19 to deselect them (switch

off the LED). Once finished wait 10 seconds and the 'Program' LED will go off and the new settings will

be stored.

Example 2:

Auxiliary Contacts as a generator starter.

When in the programming mode for the Aux. Contacts, the battery condition LEDs 15-18 can be used to

determine when to switch On and Off an external generator. i.e. when LED 18 illuminates the battery

capacity is low and the generator should be started. When LED 15 is illuminated the batteries are almost

fully charged and the generator can be switched off.

Manually operating the Aux. Contacts

The Aux. Contacts can be operated at any time by pressing the 'Aux. Contacts' button 21. LED 6

'Contact Manual' illuminates and LED 5 'Contact active' illuminates. By pushing button 21 again the

Contact is deactivated. Pushing button 21 a third time takes you back to the automatic mode.
