Initial Setup

Now that you've had a look at everything, you're ready for the initial
setup. The first thing that needs to be done BEFORE installing your
equipment is to determine how you plan to use the dancebox™ unit
(whether in DMX or stand-alone mode).

Initial Setup Quick List

 Set fixture DMX addresses, or turn on fixture sound/demo mode.
 Install fixtures (see "Installing Fixtures" below).
 Attach removable casters.
 Peel away acrylic protective cover.

DMX Mode

The dancebox™ is equipped with standard 3-pin DMX input and output
connectors which allow you to include and program the dancebox™
lighting and fog effects with the rest of your digitally controlled light show.
Before installing the equipment into the dancebox™ unit, you'll need to
set the DMX starting addresses on each piece of equipment. Take into
consideration how many channels are used per device, and the rest of
your DMX equipment that will be part of your DMX universe when setting
the addresses of the equipment that will go into the dancebox™ unit.

Stand-Alone Mode (Non-DMX)

To use the dancebox™ in stand-alone mode (i.e. without the use of a DMX
controller), it is recommended to set your lights to the sound-active or
demo modes
. If you plan to use a fog machine with the dancebox™, you
1
can use a standard timer-controller for the fogger to set an automatic
duration and interval for the fog output. It is recommended to tune these
values for each given venue, or as your needs require.

Installing Fixtures

To install your equipment into the dancebox™ unit:
1 See your equipment manufacture's respective user manuals to determine how to set the fixtures to
use the sound-active or demo modes.
