The Facilitator is presenting an idea/concept and describing how/why it is. By definition, it
would be one-sided, with only intermittent interruptions (ex. - a participant may ask for a
clarification, or refute a point)
When there is open dialogue both between a participant and the facilitator, and/or between
participants. This is where the strength of others' experiences can be seen and capitalized
upon to encourage adult learning participation.
includes any job-aid which is in "hard" copy, and usually consists of supporting documentation,
check-sheets, addendums, and (in some cases) activities.

Indicates that you write, draw, or graph on an appropriate medium, the points of an "ask",
"explain", or "discuss" action. In some instances, the participants may be the ones using the

icon, is typically supported by potential answers listed the FG.
Indicates a game, role-play, interaction, etc. Included are descriptive notes on what activity aids
are needed, how they are distributed, collected or manipulated, as well as any likely
impediments to the activity.
Refers to an action that involves such medium an LCD projector, Overhead Projector,
TV/Video, etc. This includes charts, figures, graphics, and video interactions supporting a point.
