FAULTFINDING

Problem

Tool will not operate.

Motor runs but tool

accessory does not

move.

Heavy internal sparking. Faulty motor or warn brushes. Consult your Clarke dealer.

Motor becomes hot.

Excessive vibration.

Possible Cause

No power supply.

Switch is faulty.

Fuse blown.

Motor is faulty.

Accessory fastening not

engaged.

Drive gear broken.

Unduly heavy use.

Air vents have become

blocked.

Low supply voltage.

Machine bearings worn.

Remedy

Check supply and rectify

as necessary.

Consult your Clarke dealer.

Check and replace if

necessary.

Consult your Clarke dealer.

Re-fit accessory correctly.

Consult your Clarke dealer.

Reduce the force applied to

the tool. Let the tool do the

work.

Clean out the air vents using

compressed air or clean

with a dry cloth.

Ensure supply voltage is

correct. If an extension cable

is used, ensure it is of the

correct rating and is fully

unwound.
