The following step can be omitted if the instrument serial number is 195391
or higher.

Refer to Fig. 3. Identify the transceiver processor chip (E). Remove the
old processor chip and replace it with the new chip (supplied). Use a
specialist chip remover if available; otherwise gently lever the chip from
its socket using a screwdriver. Take care not to bend any pins when
inserting the new chip.

Reassemble the instrument. Take care not to trap the green/yellow
ground wire when tightening the seven case screws (Fig. 1, Item B).
