2.2 IPA cleaning card routine

The following diagram shows the location where the IPA cleaning card is inserted into the printer.

1. Remove the ribbon cartridge from printer, set it aside, and leave front door open.

2. Open the reject hopper door.

3. Remove all cards from input hopper and leave open.

4. If equipped with dual input hopper, lower the bottom hopper tray to the bottom position.

5. Remove the long IPA card from its packaging and insert it into the printer card path through the bottom hopper.

Guide the cleaning card into the printer, if necessary. Push the card in until the rollers begin to move it on its own.

6. Use the onscreen forward and backward buttons to move the card through the printer.

7. Once all the way in, hold the edge of the card in a stationary position. Continue pressing the forward and backward

buttons to allow the rollers to drive and slip against the card.

Note: This step is very important and has the greatest effect on cleaning.

8. Run the card backwards until you can pull it fully out of the printer.

9. Discard the card, as it is a one-time use item.

10. Close the reject hopper.

11. Re-install the ribbon cartridge and close the door.

12. Re-install the cards into the input hopper.
