Before any cleaning or maintenance
work the cooker hood must be dis-
connected from the mains supply.
Ensure that, depending on the con-
nection,
– it is switched off at the fused unit
or the fuse is withdrawn, or
– it is switched off at the wall socket
and the plug removed (do not pull
on the cable, only on the plug), or
– the mains fuse is withdrawn; or
– the screw-out fuse is removed, (in
countries where this is applicable).
Ensure current is not restored to the
appliance while maintenance or re-
pair work is being carried out.
The cooker hood housing may be
cleaned using hot water to which a little
mild washing-up liquid has been
added. Dry with a soft cloth.
Never use a cleaner which scours
or contains chlorine, acids or soda.
These would damage the surface of
the cooker hood.
For stainless steel surfaces a mild non-
abrasive proprietary stainless steel
cleaner is suitable.

A re-usable metal grease filter is fitted
which removes solid particles (oil, dust,
etc.) from the kitchen vapours, prevent-
ing soiling of the cooker hood.
The grease filter should be cleaned
regularly to avoid a build-up of fat, (ap-
prox. 3-4 weeks on average, but
sooner if necessary). Always clean the
filter immediately the lamp for the
grease filter touch control comes on.
An over-greasy filter is a fire hazard.
– To remove the grease filter hold both
handles. Now press the handle on
the left sideways towards the outer
edge (in the direction of the horizon-
tal arrow) and use the handle on the
right to remove the filter by pulling
downwards gently.
