Turning the Radio ON/OFF

To switch the radio on, press and release the ON/

OFF switch (1). The radio performs a self test and a

high-pitched start-up test tone will be heard. The

LED will light green. If the radio fails the self test a

continuous low tone will sound and the display will

show the type of fault:

until the radio is turned off by pressing the ON/OFF

switch (1) again.

Note:

If the radio fails the self test routine,

consult your dealer.

When the self test is complete the radio will display:

FREETEXT

where "213" is the identity of the radio.

After this text has been displayed, the radio will scan

for system access with the LED ﬂashing GREEN

and the scanning icon

When a system is acquired, the green LED will go

off and the scanning icon

Use the VOLUME control (3) to adjust the volume to

a comfortable listening level, indicated by the

volume bar below the display.

Menu Selection

There are two levels of menu, Level 1 allows you to

choose between two options, User Absent and

Diagnostics, and Level 2 which allows selection/de-

selection (on/off) of the chosen option.

To enter the menu mode Level 1, press the MENU

button

(9). The display shows:

>USER ABSENT

DIAGNOSTICS

Use the up/down scroll keys (8) to toggle between

options indicated by the '>' icon on the left of the

display.

Press the menu button

and enter menu Level 2. The display shows:

>USER ABSENT ON

USER ABSENT OFF

will be replaced by the

(9) to select the option
