Mono
Press RADIO and MON or 2-MON push
buttons. All transmissions \\-ill be heard from
the tuner in the normal way. Stereo broadcasts
will be heard in their mono form, i.e. left and
righthand channels added tog(;ther.
Stereo
Press RADIO and STEREO push buttons.
After the Blue channel power amplifier has
warmed up mono transmissions and interstation
noise will be muted and or.ly stereo trans
missions will be heard. If no signals are audible
when tuning through the VHF band then there
are no stereo broadcasts being transmitted
within range at that time.
Long Distance Reception
Fading and background n0ise are more
apparent when receiving stereo transmissions
from distant stations. The stereu information is
degraded more than the mono channel so that
fading and background noise, if obtrusive, may
be reduced by reverting to Mono reception.
