Otherwise the interface and all connected components can be destroyed! Steering wheel remote control will
only be adapted when it was originally built in and communicates via CAN data bus with the OEM radio. If the
car is delivered without radio or without preparation for radio, the CAN data bus may first be programmed via
diagnosis with radio functions from an authorized dealer. Otherwise the CAN interface may not work properly.
The CAN Bus device is an interface which reads out afterwards described data from the CAN-protocol of a car,
needed e.g. by the navigation systems. Its' installation in a car means an important interference into a complex
system which we as a supplier of the above mentioned unit do not know very well. We cannot guarantee that
picking off data from the CAN Bus system may not influence other electronic units or systems in the car. So if
you install electronic units in cars, please always pay attention to the installation-guides and the warranty-
regulations of the car producer because otherwise the warranty will be lost. Because the changes in mass-
production of the cars, we also cannot guarantee, that the interface is suitable in all the above mentioned
combinations. To avoid risks, we advise you to contact the car producer or one of his dealers.
The cable kit is compatible with the following types of cars:
BMW:
X3 (2003-2005),
X5 (1999-2006)
MINI:
Mini (2001-2006)
Functional description
The following signals can be read out of the CAN data bus with this cable kit, if supported by the car:
Steering wheel remote control (if exists) for units from different manufacturers (if exists)
Attention: Inside of interface box 66030 must be one jumper changed (see manual 66030)!
