WARNING -
safe usage instructions
1. Study, understand and follow all instructions before
operating this jack.
2. Make sure the working area is clear before using the
jack
3. Do not exceed rated capacity.
4. Lift only on jacking points as specified in aircraft ma-
nual.
5. Use only on hard level surface.
6. Only original accessories and spare parts shall be
used.
7. No alterations shall be made to this jack.
8. The jack is provided with a pressure reducer unit,
reducing the air pressure in the jack to 8 bar/115 psi.
Maximum air pressure directly into the jack (bypassing
the reducer) is 10 bar/145 psi.
9. Failure to follow these warnings may result in personal
injury and/or property damage.
Assembly
Please notice that it is necessary to use a little oil for
lubrication during factory assembly. During transport this
oil may drip to the bottom of the box. This is absolutely no
sign of defect.
It is most convenient to mount the handle with the jack
turned upside-down.
IMPORTANT: The hoses must be twisted around the
bearing tube of the handle as shown in the picture: Ø6
connection to Ø6 quick fitting and Ø8 to Ø8 (Fig. 1). Do
not operate the jack in this position or lying on the side - if
doing so there will be serious oil spillage.
Air supply from aircraft tyre: Connect to pressure reducer
through hose with ¼" NPT or ¼" WRG. Maximum air pres-
sure directly into the jack (bypassing the reducer) is 10
bar/145 psi.
Air supply from compressed-air bottle: connect to nipple on
right side of pressure reducer.
Please notice that lifting speed will be reduced.
Full capacity requires 9 bar/130 psi.
Use
Lifting: Push the top button.
Lowering: Push the lower button. Always lower the cylin-
der completely after use in order to protect the cylinder.
Emergency lowering: Should the air-supply or jack fail,
the aircraft can be lowered by means of an emergency
lowering valve. Pull the 4 mm unbraco key loose from the
strip, remove the cover button (19) and slowly turn the
adjusting screw beneath (26) counter clockwise. The oil will
then bypass the normal air-controlled lowering valve.
The handle offers 4 different positions by pulling the re-
lease grip and tipping.
Noise emision: The A-weighted sound pressure level is
max. 80 dB(A).
Maintenance
Maintenance and repair must always be carried out by
qualified personnel.
Daily: Like other pneumatic tools the air motor requires oil
for lubricating. Lubricate the air-motor by injecting a little
thin oil into the hose and then lift to max. position. Discon-
nect the air supply, inject further oil into the air hose, recon-
nect the air supply and push the lower button to lubricate
the cylinder walls.
Monthly: Lubricate all mechanical parts with a few drops
of oil and inspect jack for damages.
Oil refill: Correct oil level is up to lower edge of filling hole
(7) with the jack horizontal and the cylinder fully down.
Quantity of oil:
Use any good hydraulic oil of viscosity ISO VG 15.
Never use brake fluid!
Safety Inspection
According to national legislation - minimum once a year
though - the jack must be inspected by a professional:
damages, wear and tear, adjustment of the safety valve,
hydraulic unit for leakages.
Connection of pressure gauge: A pressure gauge can be
connected through hole for adjusting screw (26). Remove
the cover button (19) and unscrew the adjusting screw (4
mm unbraco), remove the small pipe (27) and ball (14)
from the hole using a magneto. Then connect the pressure
gauge by means of the gauge connection (option). Hydrau-
lic pressure at full capacity: 320 bar/4640 psi.
Possible faults and how to overcome them
1. The jack does not lift to maximum position even though
the air motor is running: refill with oil.
2. The air motor runs slowly or stops: check air supply
(minimum 9 bar/130 psi); the air filter (handle drawing
no. 23) is dirty and needs cleaning or changing.
3. The load is dropping: change valve cores in pump (re-
pair kit 0907000).
IMPORTANT: the valve cores are to be tightened
slightly only, tighten to a torque setting of 10 Nm.
4. The cylinder is leaking: Change cylinder seals (repair kit
0903300).
Spare parts
Replace worn or broken parts with genuine jack manufac-
turer supplied parts only.
Destruction
Oil must be drained off and legally disposed of.
