Chapter 11

Creating the Volumes

Create a volume group, logical volume and file system.

LVM on the VIOS is not supported. Do not perform any of the procedures described in this chapter on a

VIOS.

11.1

To create logical volumes, use the "smit" command.

Execute the "smit" command.

The [System Management] menu is displayed.

Select in the following order:

(1)

[System Storage Management (Physical & Logical Storage)]

(2)

[Logical Volume Manager]

(3)

[Volume Group]
