Information about this operating manual
Please read the operating instructions and familiarise yourself with the unit prior to using it for the first
time. Adhere to the safety information for the correct and safe use of the unit.
Please keep these operating instructions in a safe place! Also hand over the operating instructions
when passing the unit on to a new owner. Ensure that all work with this unit is only carried out in
accordance with these instructions.
Intended use
The FIAP Aqua Active Plus series, in the following termed unit, is a filter unit with integrated UVC
clarifying unit for cleaning normal pond water at a water temperature of +4 to +35 °C. The unit is
exclusively intended for private use and may only be employed in ponds with or without fish population.
The use in swimming ponds is forbidden.
Use other than that intended
Danger to persons can emanate from this unit if it is not used in accordance with the intended use and
in the case of misuse. If used for purposes other than that intended, our warranty and operating permit
will become null and void.
CE Manufacturer's Declaration
We declare conformity in the sense of the EC directive, EMC directive (89/336/EEC) as well as the low
voltage directive (73/23/EEC). The following harmonised standards apply:

Safety information
For safety reasons, children and young persons under 16 years of age as well as persons who
cannot recognise possible danger or who are not familiar with these operating instructions, are
not permitted to use the unit!
The combination of water and electricity can lead to danger to life and limb, if the unit is incorrectly
connected or misused. Do not operate the unit if persons are in the water! Always disconnect the
power plugs from all units in the water and from this unit prior to reaching into the water and starting
work on the unit! Compare the electrical values of the power supply with those on the type plate on the
packaging or on the unit itself. Only operate the unit when plugged into an earthed socket. The latter
must have been installed in accordance with the valid national regulations. Ensure that the protective
earth wire is led to the unit. Only use electrical equipment, adapters, extension or connection cables
with an earthed contact which are approved for outside use. The cross section of power connection
cables must not be smaller than the rubber cables identified with H05-RNF. Extension cables must
meet DIN VDE 0620. Ensure that the unit is fused for a rated residual current of max. 30 mA via a
residual current-operating system (FI or RCD resp.). Keep the power plug and all connection points
dry! Protect the connection cable when burying to avoid
damage. Electrical installations at garden ponds must meet the international and national regulations
valid for installers. Do not carry or pull the unit by the connection cable! Never operate the unit if the
cable or housing are defective! Dispose of the entire unit if the cable is damaged, as the latter cannot
be replaced individually. Never open the unit or its component parts, unless this is explicitly mentioned
in the operating instructions. Never carry out technical changes to the unit. Only use spare parts
meeting the quoted specifications and original accessories. Only allow FIAP
authorised customer service outlets to perform repairs. For your own safety, consult a qualified
electrician if you have questions or encounter problems!

Attention! Dangerous ultra-violet radiation.
The radiation of the UVC lamp, even in small doses, is dangerous for eyes and skin! Never operate the
UVC lamp in a defective housing or outside of the housing.
Assembly and installation
Opening the filter housing: Pull the clamps on both sides of the bottom strainer casing to the side and
lift off the top strainer casing.
Set-up the unit
Place the unit in the pond on a horizontal, firm and sludge free ground and ensure that it is completely
covered by water.
Inserting the nozzle tube
Pull the nozzle tube to the desired length. Undo the clamping screw, vertically align the nozzle tube
and fasten the clamping screw hand tight.
Adjust the fountain height by means of the regulator. Set the water quantity for the second connection
point by means of the regulator.
Switching on / switching off
Attention! Dangerous electrical voltage.
If cables or components are defective, unit components and pond water can carry dangerous electrical
voltage.
Possible consequences: Death or severe injury by electrocution.
Protective measures: Disconnect the power plug prior to reaching into the water and commencing
work.
Never operate the unit without water or without pump filter!
In the event of overheating, a fitted temperature monitor switches the UVC lamp off automatically, the
lamp automatically switches on again once it has cooled down.
The unit switches on automatically when power connection is established.
Switching on: Plug the power plug into the socket.
Switching off: Disconnect the power plug.
Cleaning and maintenance, changing the UVC lamp
Attention! Dangerous electrical voltage.
If cables or components are defective, unit components and pond water can carry dangerous electrical
voltage.
Possible consequences: Death or severe injury from electrocution.
Protective measures: Disconnect the power plug prior to reaching into the water and commencing
work.
Opening the filter housing
Unscrew the stepped hose adapter prior to removing the branch valve. Pull the clamps on both sides
of the bottom strainer casing to the side and lift off the top strainer casing. Remove the UVC clarifying
unit including pump. Clean the bottom strainer casing and the top strainer casing with clear water using
a brush.
