Press the EON button once.
The unit returns to the currently selected
EON standby mode.
To receive the RDS information while
the system power is turned off

leave the radio playing unnecessarily. This
feature allows you to listen only when the
information that you want to hear is being
broadcast.

Notes
¢ When the currently being received station
broadcasts the Traffic-Announcement
Identification, "Now TA" appears in the
display.
¢ When the currently being received station
broadcasts the programme you selected
(TA, NEWS or INFO), the station will not
switch.
¢ Not all RDS stations provide EON service.
¢ "Weak Signal" appears if the EON station
which the unit automatically switched to
cannot provide RDS data due to a weak
signal.
¢ "Returning" appears about 4 minutes
after a signal from an EON station which
becomes weak, thus preventing the
station from providing RDS data. This
indicates that the unit is attempting to re-
tune the EON station.
Notes on EON and recording
¢ While in the middle of recording, the
EON receiving function does not operate.
¢ When beginning recording during EON
reception, the recording will
automatically stop when the EON
programme is finished.
Notes on EON and timer
e When the timer is turned on while
receiving an EON programme, the station
set with the timer will not be received.
¢ When the timer is set and the unit is in
EON standby mode, pressing the EON
button while "EON Wait?" and "Push
EON KEY" is displayed after turning off
the system power, the unit continues
EON standby mode even when the power
is off, but the timer will not operate.
Notes on EON and the Function
Selectors
¢ When an EON programme is received
while playing tape or CD, the function is
automatically switched to tuner mode and
the playback of the current source is
stopped. When the EON reception is
finished, the system returns to the
playback of the previously selected
source. (CD playback resumes from the
point where playback was interrupted
when EON started.)
¢ When the function is switched while
receiving an EON programme, it will not
return to the former setting nor start
playback after the broadcast is finished.
Searching for RDS stations
by Programme Type
You can search through all the stored RDS
stations for a specific type of programme
currently being broadcast.
Note
If you want to tune in traffic, news, or
information programmes as they occur on
the RDS network, use the EON feature (see
"Information Programmes (EON)"). The
EON feature allows the unit to
automatically switch to these programmes
as they begin broadcasting.
