7000 High / Low Shift Kit
4.21. Once it is confirmed that positive detent is
achieved, hold the shift handle in the Low posi-
tion, and check the adjustment of the connecting
rod. Lengthen or shorten the rod as necessary to
coordinate the position of the shift handle with
the transmission engagement in Low range.

NOTE: There should be a 1/4" gap between the
back of the gear selector lever and the end of
the slot in the fender console.
NOTE: Low position is the most adjustment-criti-
cal of the three. If it is adjusted correctly, Neutral
and High range will be adjusted correctly as well.
4.22. When adjustment is correct, remove the con-
necting rod from the tractor without disturbing
the adjustment. Secure the clevis in a bench
vise, and lock-in the adjustment by tightening the
jam nut.
4.23. Install the connecting rod in the tractor, and
secure it with the new hairpin clips provided in
the kit. See Figure 4.23.
