The following instructions will help you
install your LongView IP KVM extender.
For more information, consult the LongView
IP KVM Extender Installer/User Guide.
Supporting both PS/2 and USB connections,
the LongView IP KVM extender features a local
receiver and a USB transmitter capable of extending
keyboard, video and mouse (KVM) signals within the
parameters of the Local Area Network (LAN).
1
Connecting power to the receiver
Locate the power supply and AC line cord. Plug the
DC connector of the power supply into the matching
socket on the rear of the receiver. Attach the AC line
cord to the power supply, then plug the line cord into
an appropriate power source.
2
Preparing the remote workstation
Set the screen resolution and refresh rates of the
workstation according to the table on the opposite
side of this Quick Installation Guide. Next, turn off the
workstation and attach the transmitter.
3
Connecting the transmitter
Attach the transmitter to the video, audio, microphone
and two USB ports on the workstation. An optional
power supply unit may be used to power the
transmitter in lieu of two USB connections. Turn on
the workstation.
4
Establishing LAN connections
The connection between transmitter and receiver units
may be established using a straight-through or cross-
over UTP cable, or industry-standard Ethernet hubs or
switches. Connections across subnets are supported.
