Usage and system integration of the SoE repeater module and
SoE repeater extension module
Purpose
The SoE repeater module and SoE repeater extension module are required for the following:
● Signal distribution on site
● For media customization glass fiber-optic cable → plastic fiber-optic cable
● Signal inversion
System integration
Up to 6 AddFEM SoE can be connected via a plastic fiber-optic cable per SoE repeater
module and SoE repeater extension module. The service interface X1, input, is used as the
signal input at the AddFEM SoE.
Large distances can be spanned between the GPS Time Server and AddFEM SoE. For this
reason, glass fiber-optic cables are used as transfer medium between the GPS Time Server
and the SoE repeater module. The SoE repeater module is located in the same control
cabinet as the AddFEM SoE and supplied with 24 V DC.
The modules do not contain any intelligence. The input signal is inverted logically without
a signal change and switched to the outputs.
Both modules can be mounted on mounting rails. See section "Technical specifications of
SoE repeater module and SoE repeater extension module (Page 34)".
