@) POWER switch
On:
When
set to the on position, power is supplied and the unit
becomes operational.
Off: When in the off position, power flow is cut and the unit is turned
off.
When the FD-J7 is connected to other components, it acts as the main
power supply for the system. The FD-J7's remote control unit can be
used to switch power to the system on and off.
@ SOUND CHARACTER
Select your desired tone setting from MILD 1 to 3, FLAT, and HARD
1 to 4.
NOTE:
This control does not operate when DIRECT switch is in the on position.
'@) DIRECT switch/indicator
On (indicator lights):
The input signal does not pass through sound adjusting circuitry such
as sound character or balance, so it is more faithfully reproduced.
Off (Indicator goes out):
In this position, you can switch sound character and adjust balance.
NOTE:
When this is on, sound character switching, balance adjustment, and
the use of components connected to the adaptor jack are impossible.
@) INPUT SELECTOR switch/indicators
Each time you press the switch, the source changes in the order LINE
2, LINE 1, DAT, PHONO, CD+TUNER.
Press the required number of
times to select your desired source.
©) MUTING switch/indicator
On (Indicator lights):
Press when you want to temporarily cut sound.
Off (Indicator goes out):
When you press it again, sound returns to its original level.
¢ When recording using a timer in conjunction with the FD-J7 and T-J7, .
muting automatically switches on during timer recording.
© VOLUME control
Use to adjust the volume level.
@ BALANCE control
Ordinarily, leave it in the center position. Adjust left and right balance
when necessary.
NOTE:
This control does not operate when the DIRECT switch is in the on
position.

PHONES jack
When using headphones, insert the plug into this jack. The output to
the speakers is cut automatically when connecting headphones.
