BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange
Technical Note: Impact of using the BlackBerry Calendar Synchronization Tool
5 of 7
You can use the results discussed in this document to plan for the impact of running the
synchronization task in your organization's environment. For example, if you configure the BlackBerry
Calendar Synchronization Tool to run the synchronization task over 7 days, and you have 1000 users
who schedule approximately six appointments each day, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server processes
approximately 42,000 appointments. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server Processor Time would be
approximately 8% for about 30 minutes in this scenario. If the users are distributed evenly across two
Microsoft Exchange servers, each Microsoft Exchange server processes approximately 21,000
appointments for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Each Microsoft Exchange server will have a
Processor Time of approximately 18% and a disk throughput of approximately 508 IOPS for
approximately 30 minutes.
