Aquarium Set Up Instructions
15. Use a good quality water conditioner (sold
separately) to remove harmful chlorine and heavy
metals from tap water.
16. Once complete place the filter unit on top of the
aquarium.
17. Test and adjust pH levels.

18. Allow the aquarium to stand for 5-7 days before
introducing a few hardy fish.
19. Seek advice from your retailer for correct fish
numbers and species compatibility.
TIPS
A heater and thermometer is required if you are setting
up a tropical aquarium. Refer to heater instructions for
correct set up and positioning. Aqua One recommends
an Aqua One heater for the AquaStart 340 aquarium.

Chlorine and other heavy metals will harm your fish.
Aqua One Water Conditioner (sold separately) will
remove these impurities and create a safe environment
for your fish.
It is recommended that the light is turned completely
off for at least 8 hours per day to allow the fish a proper
night period. More than 10 hours of full light daily can
encourage excessive algae growth.
Light Unit
The light switch has three settings.
The middle position is the 'off' setting.
'I' is the daylight setting (the white and blue lights
together)
'II' is the moonlight setting (just the blue lights)
