7.0 Trouble shooting chart
You have chosen the best quality and therefore deserve the best service. To avoid unnecessary disap-
pointments, you should check the following before contacting the nearest ALTO service organisation:
Fault
Machine will not start
Machine stops
unintentionally
-restart possible
after 60 sec.
Pressure fluctuating
and pulsating
Pressure varies from
max. to min.
No working pressure
The burner does not ignite
Burner emits heavy
black smoke
Insufficient heating
Should other malfunctions occur than those mentioned above, please contact the nearest ALTO service
organisation.
Cause
A fuse has blown
Power/plug not connected
Defective extension cable
Defective socket
Excess-current cut-out on
start/stop button activated
1)
Wrong mains voltage
2)
Extension cables not
correctly dimensioned
3)
Nozzle partly blocked
Fuses blow
Water supply too low
Water filter clogged up
Nozzle partly blocked
High pressure hoses too
long

Scale deposits in boiler
Nozzle clogged up
No inlet water
Hoses/spray lance frozen
Safety thermal breaker

Fuel tank empty
Suction filter in fuel

Correction
Change the fuse
Connect power/plug
Try without extension cable
Try another socket
Allow the button system to cool. Check the
following items 1-3 and then restart the
machine.
Check that the mains voltage
corresponds to the data on the
model tag (see sec. 1.1).
Remove extension cable or use
correct cable dimension (see sec. 2.1).
Clean the nozzle (see sec. 6.3).
Change the fuse. Check that the installation
corresponds to the ampere consumption of the
machine at a minimum.
Dismount water hose and check the
water volume (min. 12 l/min).
NB: Avoid long thin hoses (min. ½").
Clean the filter (see sec. 6.1).
Clean the nozzle (see sec. 6.3).
Dismount high pressure extension hoses
and retry. Extension hose max. 10m.
NB: Avoid long extension hoses with
Descale boiler (see sec. 6.2).
Clean the nozzle (see sec. 6.3)
Check inlet water
Let them thaw up
Serious fault in the burner/control system.
Send for a ALTO service technician.
The machine can still be used in the cold
water mode.
Fill up with 5 l at least.
The machine must not run without fuel !
Clean the filter (see sec. 6.1)
Exchange two phase conductors in plug.
Send for an authorized electrician.
Descale coil (see sec. 6.2)
