Other Installation Considerations
If the posts are not installed at the correct distance and set plumb and square, the gate may not open or close properly and the
magnetic lock may not work properly (on VSGX models).
The hinge pivot and dampener are set at the factory and should not adjusted without consulting Alvarado Technical Support.
Alvarado recommends following the guidelines below during the installation process.
•
After locating the post positions, check for a level floor using a mason's level, or equivalent.
•
Shim the posts as needed if the site is not level.
•
Install bolts loosely and only tighten completely when all components have been placed in their final positions.
•
The post surface where the gate hinges attach is critical and must be plumb.
