Special filter situations:

•

Using filters with wall---mount phone (See below).

Using a splitter filter (See below).

To install a wall---mount DSL filter:

1. If the wall telephone has a locking lever, unlock it.

2. Remove the wall telephone by pushing it up gently from

the bottom, and then pull the phone away from the wall.

Disconnect the phone cord.

3. Open the top and bottom toggles of the DSL filter until they

hook on the outside cover

4. Push the DSL filter onto the wall jack, fully inserting the plug

into the wall jack.

5. Press the toggles back into position to lock on the studs of the

wall plate

6. Reattach the wall telephone to the DSL filter. If the wall

telephone has a locking lever, relock it after mounting.

Splitter Filters:

A Splitter Filter splits one jack into two so you can use your telephone and your DSL modem

with a single phone jack. Find the phone jack that is closest to the computer. This is where

you will install your Splitter Filter.

To Install the DSL Splitter Filter:

1. Disconnect the phone cord from the phone jack.

2. Plug the splitter filter into the phone jack.

3. Plug the phone cord into the splitter filter port labeled Phone.

4. Your DSL modem will get plugged into the jack labeled DSL in a later step.

5. If you need to connect multiple phone devices (example, a phone and fax machine)

into the port labeled Phone, you will need a 2---for---1 adapter to complete your setup .

Note: Do not place filters on unused jacks and the line for the DSL modem.
