Refer to the helpful hints contained in this manual with regard to Operator Safety, Saw
Safety, Work Area Safety and Blade Safety.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Make sure the blade is not touching the surface of the ground before starting the engine.
Start the engine by turning the fuel valve by the carburetor on the side of the engine to
"On".
Move the engine throttle lever 1/3 of the way to the open position.
Close the engine choke lever.
Closed choke position enriches the fuel mixture for starting a cold engine. The "Open"
choke position provides the correct fuel mixture for operation after the engine starts or for
restarting a warm engine.
Start the engine by turning the key to the start position and releasing when the engine
comes to life. After the engine starts, slowly close the Choke lever and allow the engine
to warm for a few minutes.
Open the engine throttle lever to the full position for maximum engine speed which has
been set at the factory at 3,600 rpm.
Lower the blade into the cut using the switch located on the top of the handle. When the
blade is at the correct depth start pulling the Crack Saw towards you widening the crack
as needed. The depth indicator will show the approximate depth of cut but as the blade
wears you will need to readjust the depth.
When the crack chasing is completed, raise the blade out of the cut to the full park
position using the switch on the top of the handle.
Move the engine throttle lever to the full closed position and turn the engine switch to the
"Off" position.
ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT THE PATH WITHIN THE DUCTWORK WHICH
CARRIES THE DUST AND GRINDINGS AWAY FROM THE SAW CUT BEING
GENERATED ARE THOROUGHLY CLEANED SO AS TO NOT IMPEDE THE
PASSAGE OF THE GRINDINGS BEING GENERATED.
