** Use the following Procedure ONLY if the unit is NON-OPERATIONAL **
after a MAIN microcomputer Firmware Update failure
MAIN microcomputer Firmware Forcible Update Procedure
If you update the MAIN microcomputer firmware used for other models, or other microcomputers by mistake,
the unit will not power on after reapplying the power. This procedure manually forces the unit to turn on and
enter the MAIN u-com update mode.
Note: This is only for the MAIN u-com and when the unit it is in the condition described above. If the
firmware updating failed or if the incorrect firmware file was used for other microcomputers (DSP, HDMI,
etc.), then repeat the firmware update procedure using the correct file.
1. Unplug the AC power cord and remove the bonnet.
2. Temporarily short TP477 and TP478 on the Digital Mother Assy.
3. Connect the AC power cord and the POWER button LED will light but the FL display will be blank.
The unit is now in the Main u-com update mode and the short can be removed.
4. Follow the MAIN microcomputer procedure on page 6 starting with step 5.
5. When finished, the unit will be automatically reset and turn back on in normal mode.
6. Disconnect the AC power cord for 10 seconds and then reconnect it.
7. Finished.
