6. Frequently Asked Questions
6.1 The Vinyl Cleaner Pro is smoking when the cleaning fluid is pumped
into the cleaning chamber.
This is caused by the activation of the ultrasonic., There is no reason to panic - this is water vapor,
not smoke. Everything OK.
6.2 The record does not spin.
The rim drive is accomplished by two opposing cones with drive O-rings. It can happen that
the record is not seated between the drive O-rings upon insertion. Just press the record down
slightly, perhaps turning counter-clockwise, after starting the cleaning program.
6.3 The record is seated between the drive O-rings, but still not driven properly, or slips.
Please have a look at the drive cones to see if they are spinning properly. If so, the drive O-rings are
worn and should be replaced. Lp´s may also jerk or wobble due to warping, deformation, or thickness
variations. This is normal.
6.4 The record wobbles on the left side and/or is touching the top plate.
You can wash LP´s with different thickness and when warped. The drive cones adjust on the LP
thickness. The record does not need to be centered front and back. That is all ok !
6.5 The Vinyl Cleaner Pro squeaks.
During the cleaning process it may be that the wet white wipers are squeaking in conjunction
with the rotation of the record. This noise will stop when the record is in the drying cycle.
6.6 I want to clean the inner parts. What can I do ?
It is not peremitted under warranty to clean the inside of the Vinyl Cleaner Pro with caustic alkalis or
acids or alcohol. This results in loss of all warranty coverage. When using non-approved cleaners the
seals and the acrylic components of the unit may be damaged beyond repair. If your Vinyl Cleaner Pro
is rinsed out with warm water each time the cleaning fluid is changed will be sufficient.
6.7 Is there any requirement to service my Vinyl Cleaner Pro ?
Basically all consumables can be changed by the user.
These are: Microfibre Cleaning barrels, Cleaning Filter, drive O-rings and white wipers.
We do offer a service in our service centers where we will replace all consumables and test
the Vinyl Cleaner Pro for correct functioning.
6.8 The record is not completely dry, or there are still water droplets on the surface.
All units are extensively tested before delivery. Fluid residue may be caused by various factors which
we cannot control. For this reason, the Vinyl Cleaner Pro has an additional Drying Cycle available.
This process can be started by holding the start button (4) until you hear 6 beeps. At this point a
drying-only process begins which skips the cleaning part of the cycle.
When removing the record after drying is complete be sure not to touch the LP to the wet cleaning
barrels. Pull slowly and carefully straight up.
6.9 The microfibre cleaning barrels run not round.
We test all the cleaning rollers on concentricity. For production reasons, an absolute concentricity
can not be guaranteed. All delivered cleaning rollers are within tolerance.
The cleaning result will not be affected.
