The terminal easily connects to certified peripherals, USB devices, an analog phone line, and an
Ethernet network. The back of the unit is equipped with two serial ports (COM1 and COM2), two
phone line ports, two USB ports, and an Ethernet network port. The figure below illustrates one
common configuration.

Warning: Connect all cables and peripherals before connecting power to the terminal.
Connecting to an Ethernet Network
The terminal can easily connect to your network using a standard RJ-45 CAT5 Ethernet cable.
This type of cable is available at most office and computer supply stores.

1. Connect a CAT5 cable to the
Ethernet port on the terminal, as
shown. (FIGURE 6)
2. Connect the other end of the
cable to a local network that
provides IP addresses through a
DHCP server. (Note: Static IP
addresses are supported, but
must be set up in a terminal file
or manually entered into the
terminal as described below.)
3. Once the other connections are
made and the unit powers up,
the green light will illuminate.
The yellow light will indicate
when data is being transmitted.
