Distance between the top surface of the cover glass and the top of the objective when in
focus.
This value corresponds to the F-number* of the camera and is related to the resolution.
Resolution becomes higher when the NA becomes larger.
(*F-number : Value dividing the focal length of the lens by the effective number of aperture.
This is used as an index to represent the brightness of the lens.)
Ability of an objective for resolving adjacent two points in the image, which is expressed in
terms of the minimum distance between two points on the specimen surface.
The depth range of a specimen, in which focus is obtained. Stopping down the aperture
iris diaphragm increases the depth of focus. The depth of focus is decreased when the NA
of objective becomes larger.
The diameter of the image observed through an eyepiece, indicated in millimeters.
Diameter of the field of view, expressed as the size on the specimen surface.
