Operation

During operation of the blower it is recommended to wear
eye protection, a dust mask, and full hearing protection.
Choke control
If the engine is cold you will need to use the red choke control.
Start position (choke closed). ( Lever in raised position)
Run position (choke open). (Lever in lower position)

Starting the blower

To start the engine, proceed as follows:
1. Press the primer (9) 5 to 10 times or until there are no air
bubbles are visible in the fuel discharge line.
Note.
This is not necessary if the engine is warm.
2. If the engine is cold, move the red choke (15) lever
upwards
closed.
Note. Again this is not necessary if the engine is warm.
3. Press the I symbol on the On / Off to turn the ignition ON
4. Place the blower on the
ground and hold the blower
handle firmly with your left
hand.
5. Insert the key into the Key
switch and turn the key
clockwise fully to the start
position. The starter motor will
operate. Only hold the key in the start position for periods
of MAX 5 sec. Provided the previous steps have been
performed, the motor should start within the 5 sec period
When the petrol motor starts
release the key and it will
automatically move to the run
position. If the motor starts and
then stops, even just for the
shortest time, move the red
choke lever down half way and
re attempt to start.
6. Allow the engine to run for
10 seconds to let it warm up.
Then slowly move the red
choke lever to the run position.
7. To increase the speed of the
blower, pull the throttle trigger
(1). The further you pull on the
throttle trigger, the faster the
blower will operate. To decrease
the speed of the blower, slowly
release the pressure on the throttle trigger.
Note. If the motor stalls in the initial cold starting procedure,
move the red choke back to the full choke position and
repeat from point 4. Once the motor is warm there is no
need to use the choke as this will flood the motor.

Stopping the blower

1. The blower can be stopped by
one of two methods.
2. Move the ignition switch (12)
to the off position marked O,
OR turn the key anti clock
wise to the OFF position.
Either method will stop the
blower.
3. The blower is fitted with the above 2 methods of stopping
the petrol motor. After stopping the motor with either of
the above methods, also move the alternate switch to
the off position. ie both the key switch and the ignition
switch should be in the off position when the blower is
unattended.
