PURITY
1. The hose you need to flush the filter is located on the top of the filter. It is grey in
colour and about 30 cm long – see picture below.
2. The tap to control the water being flushed is black plastic (or sometimes silver metal
and built into the top of the filter – see picture below.
3. To flush the filter you must have a bucket and enough space next to the BRITA
PURITY filter to be able to locate the bucket, so that it can sit flat on the floor. If the
filter is in a cupboard you may need to lift the filter out of the cupboard in order to
flush the filter safely and so that the grey hose can reach the bucket. Be careful not to
damage or kink the water hoses when moving the filter from the cupboard.
4. The grey hose must be inside or over the bucket before you start the flushing procedure.
Also make sure that you are holding onto the flush hose before turning the water on,
as if the water pressure is too strong it may cause the hose to flip out of the bucket.
5. Make sure the mains water is turned on and flowing through the BRITA water filter
(as it may have been turned off when the equipment was shut down). Turn the black
tap a quarter turn towards the grey hose (this may be a little stiff). As soon as you do
this you will start to get water flowing through the grey flush hose into the bucket. If
there is no water flow check that the mains water tap to the filter is turned on; if it is
not, once you do turn it on then the water will start to flow through the grey flush
hose into the bucket.
6. Flush the required amount of water from the filter;
• PURITY 1200 – 120 ltrs
• PURITY 600 – 60 ltrs
This will mean you have to fill several buckets and this will take some time to
complete. DO NOT LEAVE THE FILTER UNATTENDED WHILE FLUSHING, as
this will lead to potential flooding.
7. Once you have flushed the required amount of water through the filter, turn off the
flush tap and secure the grey flush hose around the top of the filter. The filter is now
ready to use.
