Installing/removing a Storage Blade

Removing the dummy module

Any unused slots on the front of the system unit are fitted with appropriate

dummy modules to comply with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)

regulations and to ensure sufficient cooling of the system components. The

power supply unit slots on the back do not necessarily have to be populated.

To add a storage blade, you must first remove a dummy module from the

relevant slot.

Ê Push up the release lever (1) and pull the dummy module out of the slot by

its handles.

CAUTION!

Keep the dummy module for future use. If you remove a storage blade or

a server blade and do not replace it with a new one, you must reinstall

the dummy module due to cooling, to comply with EMC regulations, and

to protect against fire.
