How the burners work

Standard burners have one heating
band, and variable burners and casser‐
ole areas have two heating bands. De‐
pending on the model, the heating
bands may be separated by a ring.
Each burner features overheat protec‐
tion (internal temperature limiter), which
prevents the ceramic surface from over‐
heating (see "Overheat protection").
When a power level is set, heating is
activated and the heating band is visi‐
ble through the ceramic surface. The
heat output of the burners depends on
the power level set and is controlled
electronically. This causes the "cycling"
of a burner: the heating is turned on
and off.
