Technical Note: Impact of using the BlackBerry Calendar Synchronization Tool
Overview
You can run the BlackBerry
find and correct differences between the calendar entries on users' BlackBerry devices and the
calendar entries on users' computers. The tool is located in the Tools directory on the BlackBerry
Enterprise Server installation media. The file name is TraitTool.exe. For more information about the

This technical note discusses the performance impact of the BlackBerry Calendar Synchronization
Tool on your organization's environment. The BlackBerry Calendar Synchronization Tool only uses
system resources when it runs the synchronization task on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server at a
scheduled time. After you configure the BlackBerry Calendar Synchronization Tool, the
synchronization task runs on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for approximately 1 hour starting at the
scheduled time. The task runs at a steady state load for the first 30 minutes and runs at a steadily
decreasing load for the remaining 30 minutes.
The tests described in this technical note were conducted under the following conditions. The results
in your organization's environment might be different.
