Operation
Performing an Emergency Stop
WARNING: A resident lift is a transfer device that allows attendants to transfer residents from a
bed to a wheelchair, commode or similar device. It must not be used to transport residents.
a) Before lifting a resident, make sure the base legs are in the most widely opened position and
the rear caster brakes are engaged. Otherwise, the lift may tip over.
b) The controller will give an audible warning when battery power is 50%. You should charge the battery
immediately. Please note a lifted resident cannot be lowered when battery is out of power.
c) If the control system is not working properly, push the red "emergency" button.
d) The emergency "mechanical release" system (pull up) enables retraction of the actuator while
under load. The mechanical release will enable the actuator to retract or lower without power.

e) Press the red emergency button on the control box to stop the boom assembly from raising or lowering.
f)
Rotate the red emergency stop button clockwise to disengage the emergency stop.

Charging the Battery
a) Fully charge your lift's battery before using your new lift for the fi rst time.
b) Lift the handle on the back of the battery.
c) Lift the battery up and away from the control box.
d) Place the battery on the battery charger as shown. Listen for an audible click.
e) Lift the handle on the back of the battery.
f)
Lift the battery up and away from the battery charger.
g) Reinstall the battery onto the control box as shown. Listen for an audible click.
NOTE: To prolong battery life, the battery should be recharged daily. When the battery is low, an
alarm will sound.
CAUTION: To confi rm proper mounting, listen for a click when mounting the battery on the battery
charger. Otherwise, damage may occur.
NOTE: When the battery is charging, the charge LED will illuminate. When charging is complete, the
charge LED will stop illuminating. It takes approximately four hours for a battery to fully recharge.
