Troubleshooting and Maintenance

The terminal is designed and manufactured for a lifetime of reliable trouble-free operation.

Depending on the environment and the condition of the checks being processed interruptions to

service can occur. Below are maintenance recommendations and trouble shooting tips.





Warning: No repairs may be performed by the user. Do not disassemble the terminal or

its power supply. Destruction of the tamper-proof labels will void any warranty.

The check track in the terminal should be cleaned periodically to assure proper check scanning.

Follow these steps:

1. Unscrew all four side door fasteners counterclockwise until they release. (FIGURE 9)

2. Gently open the side door to access the inner areas.

3. Moisten a clean dry cotton swab, ball, or pad with 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol.

Disposable cleaning pads can be purchased at most office supply stores.

4. Clean any debris from the glass of the scanner and the head of the check reader.

(FIGURE 10) Optional: If device is transporting check unusually or inconsistently, then

also clean the contact balls and the sensors.

5. Allow to dry; then close the side door. Checks will not read correctly if the door is not

securely fastened.

6. Push in and turn clockwise each side door fastener until secure. Screw in completely, but

do not over tighten.

Caution: Never use paint thinner, ketone-based solvents, or trichloroethylene to clean any part

of the terminal as they may cause the components to deteriorate.
